Bye week!!

Good showing by all this weekend! Special thanks to Cripps and Richard Gosick who played for the Rogues. It takes special guys to play against their mates and I think it shows what kind of character both these guys have!!

From Crusaders vs....

There will be no practice this Tuesday, but we will see you at 7:30 on Thursday!

Don't forget that the Middle School program starts up next week!!! The coaching clinic is next Saturday and Sunday at GW Graham. Please let me know if you are interested in participating, as this will qualify you to coach down the road if you are interested. We are going to work out some sort of dues rebate for some or all of the $165 fee.

We have a big test against Ridge Meadows on March 10, so let's see lots of faces at practice the next two weeks!!!

Rogues this weekend

Gents,

We are hosting the Rogues at Townsend Park this weekend. 1pm kickoff at Townsend Park as usual. Please be on the field ready to go at 12:20. Come by early to help set up.

We need all hands on deck as we are a little banged up. The Rogues already notified me that they are short players too due to a spate of injuries follwing a dirty beating at the hands of Ridge Meadows. There will be lots of rugby to go around, so more the better!

We have a bye week March 3, so come on out and have some fun!

Fields are open

Hello all,

Tough luck against Port Alberni this weekend. Guess we still have lots to work on! I just spoke to the City and confirmed that our fields are open tonight.

Don't forget that practice starts at 7:30 both Tuesday and Thursday now.

Fields are closed!

The City has closed the fields gents... No practice tonight. I called Port Alberni and they confirmed that the game is on no matter how much rain they get.

The bus LEAVES Jerseys at 6:30AM, and Mission guys can get picked up at Crossroads in Abby at 6:45. We have to be at Horseshoe Bay by 8AM for the 8:30 ferry, so there is no room for being late! Please bring your $70 which covers ferry, bus and 4 to a hotel room.

Moral victory for the Crusaders

Great game by everyone this past weekend! Considering that the Kats have outscored us 110-7 in our past two meetings a 13-7 loss that we were in right until the end is a huge moral victory!! I know not everyone got to play (including me) but it was a tight game and the lineup on the field was doing well. Keep coming out to practice and I am sure playing time will come in Port Alberni and against the Rogues...

Speaking of which, we face another stiff challenge in Port Alberni this weekend. The bus is leaving Jerseys at 6:30 sharp as we are catching the 8:30 ferry. We have a hotel in Port Alberni, and the Black Sheep have invited us to a Valentines Day party at their clubhouse, so it will be an epic road trip! Please bring $70 for ferry, bus and hotel to Morgan this week to save the hassle on the weekend.

If you have family or work obligations and have to return Saturday night please let Morgan know as he is arranging a carpool for those that need it. We really need all hands on deck to get another win in a tough town, so please try to make it!!!

Don't forget practice is 7pm on Tuesday and 7:30 on Thursday at Townsend Park.

Kats this weekend

Gents,

Great game against Gibsons on the weekend. If we play the Kats tough like that and keep our mouths shut so we don't get penalties we should do well.

We are hosting the Kats RFC this week, 1pm at Townsend Park on Saturday, February 10th. Please be on the field, ready to go by 12:15.

Don't forget practice starts at 7:30 Thursday night at Townsend Park!

I need to know who is coming to Port Alberni by Friday! Please email me or call to let me know. It will cost about $60 per person for the ferry, bus and hotel. There is a car load of guys going that have to return Saturday after the game, so let me know if that is your preference.

Hi all,

The weather forecast has improved, and we are on for Saturday. Please note that it is a NOON kickoff, so you need to be on the field at 11:15 for warm up. If you can, please show up at 9AM to help set up!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget the Superbowl Fundraiser at Jersey's on Sunday. Apparently the game starts at 3:30, but you might want to get there early for good seats. $10 gets a burger, fries, beer and appies. They will have good specials on for us as well. If you have gathered door prizes please include a business card or a note identifying the donors so I can prepare thank you letters.

Matt and the boys have rented ice at Prospera Centre 9-10AM on Sunday as well. Talk to him if you are interested.
